AFT Massachusetts has represented teachers in the Commonwealth since 1916, when teachers in the greater Boston area received a charter from the American Federation of Teachers. Today, AFT Massachusetts represents thousands of teachers, not just in Boston, but in Lawrence, Lynn, Lowell, Peabody, Salem, Billerica, Amesbury, Medway, Holliston, North Attleboro and elsewhere.
We’re proud to represent teachers who work in some of the most challenging schools in the state. AFT MA seeks to make sure that these teachers have everything they need to do their jobs and do them well. AFT MA is at the forefront of a movement to strengthen our public schools through collaboration between educators and administrators. Our motto: make sure that education reform is good for students, fair to educators and done collaboratively.
