Early Childhood Educators

Massachusetts Early Childhood Educators United (MECEU) is a non-traditional union committed to winning more resources and respect for the dedicated, talented professionals who teach and care for young children. We’re bringing together teachers, directors, owner/operators, and community allies to build a strong voice for early educators in the State House. Just like a chorus is louder than a solo singer, when we unite and work together, we have more power to make change. We call this powerful voice a union.

The Commonwealth of Massachusetts makes decisions about licensing regulations/protocols, reimbursement rates, funding, educational/professional development requirements, quality rating, and many more issues that affect the field. But the real experts–the people who do this important, difficult, under-valued work every day–get no say in these decisions. If our state politicians are serious about improving early education for all children, they must listen to the voices of experience: our voices.

It’s time for teachers, directors and owners to speak out with a single, strong voice for the things we want and need. It’s time for change in early education. It’s time for YOU to make your voice heard. Sign our petition today pledging to join the Massachusetts movement of early childhood educators and child care providers.
