Issues/Advocacy

AFT Massachusetts advocates on behalf of its 25,000 members, for students attending public schools in the Commonwealth, and on behalf of working people throughout the state. Current issues of great concern to AFT Massachusetts and its members include:

  • Education reform that is fair to teachers, good for students and collaborative in nature;
  • A charter school funding formula that doesn’t punish students in public schools;
  • Fair and equitable benefits for our active and retired members.
